Project details
There were 4 problem statements, and we decided to choose the problem statement that we thought we could tackle and, most importantly, that we thought was a real problem people are facing.
Background
Food delivery and recipe apps are everywhere, but they lack personality and customization. Chomp is a smart, AI-powered food assistant that scans users' fridges, recommends creative recipes, and even orders missing ingredients. The twist? It talks to users like a food-obsessed best friend—roasting their bad food habits while encouraging better choices.
The Design Challenge:
How do you design a food app that isn't just functional but highly engaging and fun?
How do you create a chatbot that doesn't feel robotic but genuinely witty and helpful?
How can Chomp's branding stand out in a saturated food-tech market?
Key Considerations:
Conversational UX: What's the best way to design an AI-driven, personality-filled experience?
Food Discovery & Customization: Should the app suggest hyper-personalized meal plans or general fun ideas?
Ecosystem Integration: Should Chomp sync with grocery apps, meal kits, or health trackers?
Visual Branding: Should it be fun and bold like Duolingo, or more refined like Headspace?
Stats to Keep in Mind
42% of millennials & Gen Z struggle to decide what to eat daily.
AI-powered personalization boosts user engagement by 70% in apps.
65% of users abandon cooking apps due to lack of fun & engagement—Chomp should solve this.

Key learning
While doing the user research, I had a conversation with my friend who lives in a PG and has less time for food preparation because she has a morning shift job. So I asked her about her time management in the morning. After understanding her time management, I learned that due to time constraints, she used to have roadside food.
